This is the second of two videos demonstrating basic seams.
- A closed seam is two pieces of fabric surged together and the seam allowances first pressed open then both pieces of seam allowance (S.A.) to one side. This seam is a general purpose seam for all types of fabrics.
- After stitching the seam, press the seam flat to set the stitches, next press the seams open on the wrong side, then press the two pieces of S.A. to the left or the right side. Turn the fabric over to the right side and top press.
